Betabrand: Embrace the Faux Pas
If you consider yourself to be witty, wacky, and ironic you better know about Betabrand. After all, in an article written for the NY Times, Chris Lindland, the founder of the San Francisco based online-clothing company, described his label as “99 percent fiction, one percent fashion.”
Though he may humor us, it is no joke that Betabrand is a success. Lindland capitalized on quirky San Francisco culture and set to create a cult-like following by releasing limited edition items and introducing kooky fashion trends.
Originally called Cordarounds (yes, they created horizontal cords), they have since branched out to include seersucker apparel, disco pants, and cyclist attire.
Who says disco pants are only for sky diving over Black Rock City? Gents, embrace the faux pas-you’re sure to win over a pretty cool chick if you rock these at the next party.
Because Betabrand is not available in stores, you’ll have to order the irony on their website. But hey, isn’t that part of their appeal?
